Nicole has over 25 years’ experience specialising in cross-border taxation, having trained with two of the Big Four accountancy firms in their expatriate tax departments where she gained her ATT (Association of Tax Technicians) and CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) qualifications.
Following her career at KMPG and Ernst & Young, Nicole joined Blevins Franks, Europe’s largest international wealth management company, where she spent ten years
specialising in tax planning for private clients relocating to France, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus, rising up through the ranks to become Head of Tax.
She has since worked as Tax Technical Lead in a Top 10 UK accountancy firm, before moving to a niche London boutique tax advisory company, and more recently a European based wealth management company helping clients with their international tax planning. Nicole routinely advises HNW individuals and entrepreneurs with complex international structures on all aspects of UK tax planning, including residence and domicile, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and succession planning, exit planning for businesses, trust and company structures and the interpretation and application of double tax treaties.
She also advises individuals looking to relocate overseas, having developed specialist knowledge in the taxation systems of France, Spain and Portugal. She regularly advises on the impatriate tax regimes in those countries as well as planning to minimise wealth tax and succession taxes.
Nicole has a strong understanding of the expatriate market and has the skills to advise a diverse range of individuals with differing needs, having lived in France and Spain and being fluent in both French and Spanish with a high competency in Portuguese.
Nicole is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. She holds a BA double honours degree in French, Spanish and Portuguese and an MA in translating. Nicole
routinely lectures to the public and interest groups on cross-border tax issues, has featured on various radio podcasts and has contributed a variety of articles to a number of publications, including the STEP journal and the professional publication ‘Trusts and Estates Law and Tax Journal’.
